AL 1590E amp How to wire it

Hi
I have a pair of altec 1590e amp,
how can i wire this amp to and 8 ohms speaker.
Inside were the speaker connect, there are 7 or 8 taps for 25v for 4.5 ohms,70v for 25 ohms
100v for 50 ohms, and so on to 200v,and there is a ground,i have try 70v tap but the sound was bad, then i try 25v (4.5 ohms) the sound is good, but it is not loud .Help would be appreciate. Tanks.

The 1590E did not have an 8-ohm output tap on it's output transformer - it was not designed for that.

However - you can use the 4.5-ohm tap on an 8-ohm speaker, it will just reduce the amount of power delivered to the speaker by about 1/2.

BUT, since the 1590E is a 200-watt output amplifier, you'll be able to get roughly 100 watts out of it if you drive it to it's full potential, which should be enough for most home listening environments, especially if you're using efficient speakers...

I have already download that manual last week
but in the speakers connections pages,there's no way to connect in 8 ohms.
There's maybe a modification to do but it is not in the manual.
Maybe someone could help to fix that. Tanks.
